Participation

You can sign up HERE.

First click on “Create an account” and follow the instructions. Then click the red “Participate now!” button on the platform to finalize your participant account. You can then submit your proposal!

You will receive a confirmation email upon registration. If not, please email help@agorize.com.

When there is an update, you will receive an email from the admin on the Agorize platform and a notification at your provided email address. Please make sure you have clicked ‘Participate’ and check your junk mailbox!

To update your details, log in at LINK and go to your participant profile and/ or space to edit or change your details.

After completing the registration process, you will see options to join an existing team or create your own. Additionally, you can go to the Team page on our website to manage your team. To help your friends join your team, share the webpage with them. They can follow the registration instructions provided to find and join your team easily.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this competition, you:

  •  Any individual UK or EU-based student (at a recognised education institution) aged at least eighteen (18) years and with full legal capacity. 
  • Non-Huawei employees

The best team members for this competition are:

  • Students who are currently in undergraduate, Master's, or PhD programs.
  • Students who are enrolled at a higher education institution in Ireland or the UK.
  • Students studying engineering, mathematics, computer science, or similar fields.

Important Points:

  • Teams can have up to 3 members.
  • It’s a good idea to have at least one PhD student on your team.
  • Each participant can only be a member of one team. 

Registration Phase

For the Registration Phase, your team must register by completing and submitting the participation form. 

The deadline for registration is Novermber 30, 2024, at 23:59 GMT.

Competition

Yes, you can modify your submission anytime before deadline. 

For Track 1, detailed information will be available starting from 7th October.
For Track 2, more information will be released on 14th October.

For Phase 1, you will need to submit a tar.gz file containing your solution to the platform. The specific format and detailed submission instructions will be provided starting 7th of October.

 you will be required to upload your complete codebase, including all the files needed to replicate your solution, to the Agorize platform.

 

If two or more submissions have the same score, the following tiebreakers will be used:

  1. The submission that can be generated in the lowest amount of time will be considered the higher-scoring submission.
  2. If there is still a tie after considering the generation time, the panel of Mentors will vote to determine the higher-scoring submission among the tied submissions.

Close Ceremony

Who will be invited to Final Ceremony?

All participants who successfully complete their entire submission will be invited to the online ceremony. Additionally, the Top 3 teams from each track will be awarded an exclusive trip to China as part of their prize.

The Final Ceremony will take place on 10th January 2025 in a hybrid format, allowing participants to attend both in-person and virtually.. The week-long China trip offers an unforgettable experience! You'll get the chance to visit Huawei's Headquarters, meet with industry experts, and attend technology panels. In addition, you'll enjoy an immersive cultural experience, exploring the rich heritage and vibrant culture of China.

You will be able to track your coding performance through a real-time leaderboard. After submission, your code will be thoroughly reviewed by our experts. Your final score will be announced after your presentation during the Closing Ceremony on 10th January 2025.

Prizes

The top teams of the Final Hackthon will compete for the following cash prizes:

  • Grand Prize: GBP 6,000 for the top-placing team.
  • Second Prize: GBP 4,000 for the runner-up team.
  • Third Prizes: GBP 2,000 each for the team that place third.

Yes, a total of 3 teams of each track will be designated as Huawei Competition Students and will be offered internship opportunities within Huawei. es.

Yes, all participants who successfully complete and submit their challenge will receive unique Huawei souvenirs by post, commemorating their experience in the 2024 UK Tech Arena competition.
