Participation

You can sign up HERE.

First click on “Create an account” and follow the instructions. Then click the red “Participate now!” button on the platform to finalize your participant account. You can then submit your proposal!

You will receive a confirmation email upon registration. If not, please email help@agorize.com.

When there is an update, you will receive an email from the admin on the Agorize platform and a notification at your provided email address. Please make sure you have clicked ‘Participate’ and check your junk mailbox!

To update your details, log in at LINK and go to your participant profile and/or space to edit or change your details.

After completing the registration process, you will see options to join an existing team or create your own. Additionally, you can go to the Team page on our website to manage your team. To help your friends join your team, share the webpage with them. They can follow the registration instructions provided to find and join your team easily.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this competition, you are:

  • 18 years or older
  • Not Huawei employees
  • Not Sponsor's representatives

The best team members for this competition are:

  • Students who are currently in undergraduate, Master's, or PhD programs.
  • Students who are enrolled at a higher education institution in EU.
  • Students studying engineering, mathematics, computer science, physics or similar fields or fresh graduates (up to 3 years).

Important Points:

  • Teams can have up to 5 members.
  • It’s a good idea to have at least one PhD student on your team.
  • Each participant can only be a member of one team.

All deliverables must be in one of this following languages: Python or JAVA, C, C++. This requirement applies to both phase 1 and phase 2.

Registration Phase

For the Registration Phase, your team must register by completing and submitting the participation form. 

The deadline for registration is November 10, 2024, at 23:59 GMT+02.

Phase 1

Yes, you can modify your submission during Phase 1 before the final deadline of November 20th, 2024, at 23:59 GMT+02.

Participants will have more information about the challenge to tackle during phase 1 on October 19th, 2024.

For Phase 1, you will need to submit a zip file containing your solution to the platform. The specific format and detailed submission instructions will be provided starting October 19.

At the end of Phase 1, you will be required to upload your complete codebase, including all the files needed to replicate your solution, to the Agorize platform.

It is required to evaluate your approach against multiple realizations of the actual demand data.

If two or more submissions have the same score, the following tiebreakers will be used:

  1. The submission that can be generated in the lowest amount of time will be considered the higher-scoring submission.
  2. If there is still a tie after considering the generation time, the panel of Mentors will vote to determine the higher-scoring submission among the tied submissions.

Phase 2: On-site Honor and Award Ceremony

Up to 50 top participants from Phase 1 will be invited to Munich to join the Final. For participants from universities out of Germany, travel and accommodation costs will be fully covered by Huawei.

This step will take place on a working day between Dec. 12 – Dec. 18, 2024 in Munich, Germany. (The specific date and time for the awards ceremony shall be communicated to the winning teams via email by November 30.)

 Selected teams will pitch their innovative solutions to a panel of Huawei experts for a chance to win cash prizes, internship opportunities, or a trip to China!

Announcement of the winners will be made on a working day between Dec. 12 – Dec. 18, 2024.

Prizes

The top teams of the Final will compete for the following cash prizes:

  • Grand Prize: EUR 6,000 for the top-placing team.
  • Second Prize: EUR 3,000 for the two runner-up teams.
  • Third Prizes: EUR 2,000 each for the three teams that place third.

Yes, a total of 6 teams of the Final phase will be designated as Huawei Competition Students and will be offered internship opportunities within Huawei. Additionally, outstanding participants will have the chance to visit Huawei’s headquarters in China, providing an incredible insight into one of the world's leading tech companies.

All participants who make it to the Final will receive unique Huawei souvenirs to commemorate their experience in the 2024 Munich Tech Arena.
